"Philly WCA in Women in the Arts Magazine"

The Dress Project , a 2005-06 WCA collaborative partnership with member artist, Diana Riukas, was written up in "Women in the Arts Magazine" Fall issue (published by the National Museum of Women in the Arts of Washington, DC). Diana Riukas was interviewed by writer Laura Harbold who wrote, "Riukas challenged the traditional standards of appearance and behavior represented by the dress.......and with the variety of imagery received by almost 100 participants (she) hoped to make a statement about the different levels of female personal identity."

Marie Elcin at the Padlock Gallery

Marie Elcin will be in a show "Diaroma" at the Padlock Gallery Nov 18th at 8pm thru 12am.. and runs through Nov 30.

Artists picked up boxes provided by the gallery and assembled diaromas loosely, or not, based on Homer's Odyssey to create the story of a journey.

"Diorama! A Story in 20 Parts

Take a voyage to twenty boxed places and put together your own story. Audience interaction is strongly encouraged, so come play with the art!"

November 12th Meeting Highlights

Tonight we discussed an agenda for the next several months worth of meetings.

We are planning a holiday party in December 10th ath Angela Victor's house, friends and family welcom . More information will follow.

The January 10th meeting will be an open crit of slides or work. Bring in 5 slides or 3 pieces of art to the new location at Moore College of Art.

** Collagraph Workshop** January 6th and 7th with Michelle Wilson. Moore information will follow.

February 14th meeting will be creating and exchanging Artist Trading Cards.

**DUES REMINDER** They are due in January for 2007 Three easy ways to pay:
1. pay pal online at the National WCA site.
2. Download form from website and send it via mail.
3. Bring to a meeting.
