Featured Member Artist: Pamela Flynn

Pamela is a mixed media artist. She received her MFA from New Jersey City University and has her studio in NJ. She is a Professor of Art at Holy Family University, Philadelphia. Her work is fueled by cultural and social issues. This body of work is titled Demarcation Exclusion/Exclusive. This work bids the viewer to consider structure and placement and one’s relationship to a wall or fence-physically/conceptually/politically. A barrier to one person may be a means of protection to another. The purpose of this work is to bring attention to the barriers that persons must climb (figuratively and actually) everyday in order to share in the American dream.

The ThickArt Collaborative with Authentic Contemporary Art and The Center For Green Urbanism Presents “Making HerStory 6”, the Annual Celebration of Women in the Arts--a month full of various unifying events celebrating women artists in all genres.
