FLYING KITE ON THE GROUND: 19104 Transformation - Call for performances and more art!

CALL FOR PERFORMANCE
An open invitation to musicians, movement, theatre, and performance artists living and rehearsing in 19104 to create work on the theme "Transformation" or that is interactive within the current exhibition. Performances will be held on Second Friday, July 13 from 6-9 at 4017 Lancaster Avenue as part of On the Ground, an initiative by Flying Kite Media.

CALL FOR ARTWORK (SCULPTURAL, FREE STANDING)
An open invitation to artists who live or hold a studio in the 19104 zip code to create sculptural or installation work on the theme "Transformation."  2D work may be submitted, but it must be installed on an easel or similar presentation.  Smaller 2D work may be considered to hang on walls. Email feedback@flyingkitemedia.com

Please submit by Friday, July 6. We will notify everyone by Monday, July 9.

Opportunity: *YeuxVeuxBelle Theatre Collective* 24-hour art making (June 17-18)

*Who:* *YeuxVeuxBelle Theatre Collective* presents its inaugural summer
Insomniart Festival!

*What:* A 24-hour art making event beginning Sunday, June 17th at 6pm and
running through Monday, June 18th at 6pm.

*Seeking:* Directors/Painters/Sculptors/Choreographers/Bands/Dancers

*When*: Monday, June 18th

*How*: As a participant of the event you will receive a prompt/challenge on
the evening of June 17th and will have 24 hours to complete it in a
creative, unique, adventurous, and ambitious way to be displayed or
performed the following evening at a formal gala for fellow artists of the
Philadelphia Community. You will work/perform along with eight to ten other
artists in fields such as; theatre, painting, music, found art, and
dance. Artists will be responsible for their own supplies, but
YeuxVeuxBelle Collective will provide all space and lighting for creation
and performance and any additional assistance you may need over the 24-hour
period.

submitting for.

News: Meeting on January 11 and Call for Performance

Our next WCA Philadelphia meeting is January 11 at 7 p.m. in Sarah Peter Cafeteria of Moore College College of Art and Design, 19th St. & Ben Franklin Parkway.  We'll be joined by members of Permanent Wave Philly who will be organizing a performance at Cha Cha'razzi on January 13 to benefit Girls Rock Philly.  We encourage our attendees to bring a books, cds, or records to donate to the Girls Rock Philly library.

CALL FOR PERFORMANCE
We are currently seeking proposals for performances at the Sandy Spring Museum for the joint WCA Philadelphia and WCA/DC exhibition that opens on June 24. The theme is Re/Using Our Resources. Send an inquiry to wcadcfeaturedartist@gmail.com for details. Include genre: music, dance, video, spoken, mixed-genre, workshop (contained).  One does not need to be a current Philadelphia chapter member to perform (though it is encouraged.)  Please apply before January 30.
