Bonnie MacAllister nominated for the Pushcart Prize
WCA-Phila Co-President Bonnie MacAllister was nominated for
the Pushcart Prize. She was nominated by Turtle Ink Press
(Syracuse, NY) who recently published her poem,
"Rosary" in Coevolution 2: Shivering through the Details
(the Monday Night Poetry 2007 Anthology).
She was nominated by editors Amy Lawson-Cassady and John Beck.
The Pushcart Prize is a prestigious American literary prize by
Pushcart Press that honors the best "poetry, short fiction,
essays or literary whatnot" published in the small presses
over the previous year. Magazine and small book press editors
are invited annually to nominate work they've published. Anthologies
of the selected works have been publishedannually since 1976.
Bonnie will perform "Rosary" as part of her
"avant-pop literary burlesque"and
"deconstructed breath verse"
at High Wire Gallery on December 8th along with
The Red Masque and Radio Eris at 8 p.m. The show is $5
(portion benefits the gallery).
