Kathy Dobash facillitated the following:
An exhibit of the art created will take place during the week of
November 24, 2008. Hazleton YM/YWCA, Hazleton, PA.
The participants are school-aged children between the ages of
6 and 12 years old. This after school activity is a great way for area youth to unwind at the end of the week and learn how to express themselves through art.
Classes meet on Fridays. The next two sessions are
Friday, November 14TH and friday November 21ST.
The children are creating abstract expressionistic landscapes.
Various landscape paintings by Vincent Van Gogh inspire their painting styles. Some of the collaborative works will be donated for exhibition and educational purposes in Luzerne County.
"Painterly Abstract Expressions of Luzerne County Landscapes"
is made possible by The Scranton Area Foundation, which administers funding from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Partners in the Arts(PPA).
Location: Hazleton YM/YWCA
