Let me introduce you to Michelle Ferraro, the 2010 WCA Moore Senior Award recipient!! Michelle is a fine arts major with a concentration in 3D. Her thesis exhibit included 3 thrown and manipulated vessels with surface drawing and glazing that related beautifully to her wall installation.
Numbers, geometry, systems, swarms, cut paper, layered transparencies, digitally printed, and hand-drawn... this piece was full of complexities. Michelle is able to successfully translate her concepts in a range of media.
Not only is her work strong, but her work ethic is too. Michelle has been both going to school and working as an assistant teaching artist at the Claymobile. She plans to stay in the area for a while and has already lined up work assisting artist Leroy Johnson, a past resident artist of th eClay Studio.Let's welcome and congratulate Michelle Ferraro!!
