Opportunity: Art of the Garden
Visual artists of all mediums are invited to submit their work to Art of the Garden: a group show of 150 artworks on the theme of gardens at the Haverford Township Free Library. This exhibit it part of the library’s fund-raising effort “Sowing the Seeds of a New Library," which requests that artists donate 20% of the purchase price of their artworks to the library’s upkeep.
Like many other libraries in Pennsylvania, Haverford Township Free Library has been severely affected in the last two years by a 33% budget cut totaling more than $300,000. As the township’s only library and an essential social hub to an active and cultured population of all age ranges, the library is the perfect gateway to a diverse new audience of collectors and viewers for local, national and international artists. The deadline for submissions is February 25, 2011.
For more application guidelines and to submit your work, please visit artofthegarden11.blogspot.com.
