The Community Cultural Exchange (CCE) of Philadelphia will be presenting a craft fair and flea market, 2nd Annual Craft Exchange. The 2011 Craft Exchange and Flea Market is a free, one day event celebrating community and the arts. The CCE invites visitors to experience local music, hands-on art projects, wellness activities, face painting, Philly food, and craftsmanship.

Organizational Background
The Community Cultural Exchange (CCE) is a 501c3 non-profit with the mission to create community through arts and culture. The CCE does so by action as a bridge between local art and culture groups, businesses, artists and the South Street area community. Encouraging the exchange of Philadelphia culture, the CCE facilitates programs and events of all disciplines including musical, visual, performing, literary, and wellness arts.

Registration Information
Artists may pre-register and pay a non-refundable $25 fee to participate in the CCE’s Craft Exchange by the deadline of August 6. Artists looking to participate the day of the event will be subject to a non-refundable $35 “on-the-spot” registration. Early registration is encouraged.
Space is limited. Community Cultural Exchange will place pre-registered artists as they arrive on a first come, first serve bases for check-in. We will not be able to tell artists ahead of time where they will be placed, nor can artists “reserve” a specific space.
“On-the-spot” registered artists are subject to space available and are not guaranteed a space in the event that all spaces are filled.
Please note that 100% of fees collected from vendors go directly towards the funding of Art in the Park. Art in the Park is the CCE’s free art program that contracts local artists to conduct workshops in their field. Participating vendors can register via mail using cash, money order or check payable to: Community Cultural Exchange or through our website via PayPal.

PayPal registrations can be made by visiting: www.communityculturalexchange.com, then clicking the “Donate” button in our navigation bar.
Mailed registrations can be sent to Community Cultural Exchange, P.O. Box 63808, Philadelphia, PA 19147.
Please include artist information - Full Name, Artist Alias, and medium when submitting registration payment. If using PayPal please send information by email to Bridget Goldhahn at bridget.goldhahn@gmail.com.
Guidelines for Vending Artists
Only original 2-D & 3-D fine art and craft media accepted.
Prints of 2-D are allowed if they are of the artists original 2-D artwork.
Original works also include and are not limited to cds, books, zines, or merchandizing related goods (ie, band tee-shirts).
Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first served basis. The CCE will outline designated areas for vending artists.

Banned items: Including, but not limited to: food, beverages, guns, ammunition, explosive materials, dangerous, hazardous, flammable, toxic substances, alcohol, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, offensive, pornographic or x-rated material, stolen, counterfeit or unlicensed items, any item that may present a public hazard, or any other illegal item(s). The CCE is the final authority in determining what can and cannot be sold on flea market property.

Set-Up & Break-Down
Participating vendors can check in and set up area on August 13th between 9:00 and 10:00 am
participating vendors are responsible for bringing their own table, box or bins to put their artwork in. Your table, bin or box area must fit into a space that is no larger than 5 feet wide by 8 feet in depth.
Community Cultural Exchange will not be collecting a commission on sales. Each artist is responsible for making their own sales, including making change and processing payments.
The CCE will do its best to accommodate all vending artists within reason.
No Vendor shall remain on Starr Garden property after 3:30 pm on August 13th

Marketing
The CCE requests that vending artists send images that are representative of their work for promotional purposes. The CCE will exhaust all free public and private art forums, blogs, and social media, in addition to sending press releases to local newspapers (Philadelphia Weekly, City Paper and South Philly Review).
