Member News, February Events in New York including National Conference

PROVOCATEUR:A WCA NY Member Exhibition
February 1-27, 2013

Riverside Library at Lincoln Center 
127 Amsterdam Avenue, NYC

PROVOCATEUR, an exhibition by the Women’s Caucus for Art’s New York Chapter will be on display at the Riverside Library in Lincoln Center (127 Amsterdam Avenue, NYC) from February 1 through February 26, 2013. An opening reception will be held Thursday, February 7 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm.

According to the original French interpretation of the word, the provocateur provokes or challenges. Through paintings, sculpture, fiber art, and other visual art, the following artists share work designed to challenge and excite the viewer.


Exhibition features our members Bonnie MacAllister and Sarah Gersbach, along with Joan Arbeiter, Marcia Annenberg, Helene Aylon, Jennie Barrese, Tracy Brown, Judy Cooperman, Nancy Current, Amy Delahunty, Jing Deng, Noreen Dean Dresser, Mary Hamill, Autumn Horne, Krista Jiannacopoulos, Patti Jordan, Carole Kaufmann, K. A. Letts, Helene Mukhtar, Jennifer Murray, Pamela Pearce, Ellen D Newman, Chava Shtraykher, Helaine Soller, Heather G. Stoltz, Bonita Tabakin, Yona Verwer, Theresa Vitucci, Lisa DeLoria Weinblatt, and Joyce Ellen Weinstein.

Guest Speaker
Dr. Anne Swartz, Professor of Art History, Savannah College of Art and Design
Dr. Swartz will speak about the challenges female artists face and strategies for finding exhibition spaces.
