We will be making plans for our upcoming exhibition. So please bring ideas! Possible venues are the Plastic Club or Stratosphere, but other suggestions are welcome.
Bring Artist Trading Cards. We will be sending them to another WCA chapter and you will get one back for every card you trade.
Also information on The Irving Sandler Artists File image data base and slide directory will be discussed as well.
Here is more info on the DC chapter networking day which we will also discuss May 19th:
• Is it actually skill that determines an artist's level
of success? With a robust work ethic in place does an
artist rocket to fame and fortune? Don't miss Aziza
Claudia Gibson-Hunter's presentation on advancing
your career and achieving success as an artist.
• Networking Lunch: Enjoy a 3-course lunch at the
historic Arts Club, and spend time networking with
other participants.
• “Building Support for the Arts in Your
Community”: Including the Philadelphia WCA chapter.
• Afternoon Art Share: Everyone is welcome to
bring two or three slides or original art to present.
Non-members are encouraged to participate.
• Ms. Gibson-Hunter,co-founded Black Artists
of DC (BADC) which supports talented DC area
artists, providing opportunities to learn about
the “art industry” and organizing exhibitions and
workshops and other activities for groups and for
individual artists. She is an arts educator and a
widely exhibited artist. Formerly a professor of
printmaking at Howard University, she also gained
entrepreneurial experience from her successful
greeting card business.
