Encyclopedia exhibit opportunity

You are invited to participate in our encyclopedia project...

title: information revisited
concept: each artist will be given a volume of the Encyclopedia Britannica and will produce an artwork relevant to the theme which includes the importance of environmental concerns today and how the old can be recycled and created anew through an artist’s vision

what we are looking for:
1. imagination to change a book of words into a work of art
2. there are no particular rules, but we do need to see a proposal (written or visual concept of what you propose to do, including size, special needs)
3. there is wall, shelf, pedestal, and floor space, as well as space for weatherproof outdoor sculptural pieces
4. (we are hoping to travel this show to other museums, galleries, colleges and need an early idea of who and what will be in the show for our travelling proposals)

dates: the show will open June 6, 2010 and officially closes June 27 - however, there is an opportunity for the show to stay in situ during July and August and the show may travel throughout the year
opening reception: June 6, 2010 1-5pm
