"Show Me to My Seat!"

For the upcoming Fringe Festival, The Philadelphia Chapter of WCA is forming our own version of "A Place at the Table" by Judy Chicago. Chairs will be artistically decorated/altered including statistical information on women’s placement in our society on Wednesday, August 11th at 7:00 pm at the member meeting at Moore College of Art and then used during the Fringe Festival in Old City on September 3rd at 6:00 pm to support women in the arts as a silent demonstration. Following the Fringe demonstration, the chairs will be housed at the Old Pine Community Center from September 10-12, 17th and 18. There is also the opportunity for chapter members to exhibit other work at the theater through Green Light Arts. The chairs will form part of the set of "The Waiting Room" which will be a Judy Chicago/ Miriam Shapiro "Womanhouse" style installation featuring live arts performances each night at 7:00 pm.

If you are interesting in participating in the demonstration and exhibition, please email us at phila_wca@yahoo.com. This opportunity is open to women artists outside of the WCA, so invite colleagues and friends to participate. The more, the merrier!
