Member News: Brenna K. Murphy

Brenna K. Murphy is included in an exciting exhibition at the Crane Arts Building, "Outside/Inside the Box," as part of FiberPhiladelphia, an international biennial and regional festival for innovative fiber and textile art (www.fiberphiladelphia.org).  For those of you that didn't make it to the opening reception on March 3rd, please come check out all of the amazing work at a second reception THIS SATURDAY, March 31st, from 5:00 - 8:00pm (see the website for more information: www.fiberphiladelphia.org/outside_inside-the-box). 

Her work is featured in another wonderful exhibition as part of FiberPhiladelphia, "Softer Edges," at the Fleisher Art Memorial. This show's focus is on fiber art's connection to the urban environment.  Please stop by for the opening reception on FRIDAY, APRIL 13th from 6:00 - 8:00pm.  More information about the show below (and please note that it will NOT be in Fleisher's main building on Catharine St., but in another Fleisher building on Christian St.):

She has been invited to work as the very first Visiting Artist at the Kasthamandap Art Studio in Kathmandu, Nepal for the month of July (www.kasthamandaparts.com.np), and as an Artist-in-Residence at the CAMAC Centre d'Art in Marnay-sur-Seine, France (about two hours outside of Paris) for the months of September and October (www.camac.org).
