Call for Artists with a Connection to Frankford (Flying Kite, flyingkitemedia.com)

ON THE GROUND: Call for Artists for "Transformation 19124" Exhibition at 4442 Frankford Ave. (St. Mark's Church)

We are accepting proposals for art to be exhibited inside St. Mark's Church for display on Nov. 8 (opening and Mural Arts Community Painting Night), Nov. 10 (Music Showcase) and Dec. 15 (Indoor Holiday Flea Market & Craft Fair).

-- Artists must live or work prominently in Frankford (area code 19124)
-- Works can be in any medium (PLEASE NOTE we will not be hanging works on walls, so please provide easels if necessary or let us know how many you might need)
-- Works should be responsive to the theme of Transformation
-- All artists will be highlighted in a preview article published in Flying Kite
-- All works will be stored securely in a locked portion of the church between exhibitions.

Deadline for submissions is Noon on Mon., Nov. 5.

The exhibition is being co-presented by local artists and Flying Kite as part of Flying Kite's On the Ground neighborhood engagement program, which creates a temporary media hub in a vacant or under-utilized storefront or building and takes a deep dive on neighborhood transformation through coverage, events and social media. After 90 days it's on to the next neighborhood.

Our hope is to bring together Frankford-area artists to celebrate the creativity and innovation that can serve as a catalyst for business and cultural development along the Frankford Ave. corridor in Frankford.

Please reply to this message or email feedback@flyingkitemedia.com to submit your work or if you have questions.
