JAM Gallery in Malvern presents its first annual juried show!

 





JAM Gallery, established in 2013, provides local and nationally recognized artists a venue for exhibition. In doing so, the gallery serves the Chester County and Malvern community as a diverse source of talent in the fields of painting and sculpture. Featuring a unique range of representational and abstract styles by both established and emerging artists, JAM Gallery offers quality original contemporary art produced by individuals who are dedicated to their creative visions. 




In addition to the gallery’s guest artists, JAM Gallery is also the home of award-winning Pennsylvania artists Melanie Fisher and Lynnette Shelley.

EXHIBIT DATES: August 6-31 2014 

Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony: August 9, 5-8 PM

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: July 1, 2014

PRIZES: $400 BEST OF SHOW AWARD, $200 Best 2-D Art and $200 Best 3-D Art plus four $50 certificates of excellence (gift certificates).

ELIGIBLE WORKS:  All paint, drawing, mixed media or sculpture media is welcome. Work must be original and created by the artist. If collage elements are used any image or color on collage papers must be the work of the artist. No photographic, digital, electronic processes or computer art will be accepted.  No work previously exhibited in JAM Gallery will be accepted. Entries must be no older than 3 years. Source material must be artist’s own (i.e no copying of other artist’s paintings or photographs other than your own).

SIZE:  Maximum framed size is 48” in any direction (includes frame). Sculpture work should not be taller than seven feet.

ENTRY FEE:  $25 for up to three submissions or $35 for five entries. Only two entries total may be picked from any artist for the show. Money should be paid via paypal to jamgallerymalvern@gmail.com (preferred) or via check to JAM Gallery.

Please mark envelope with JURIED SHOW SUBMISSION and please put in your check memo area the email address used to submit the work

No work will be accepted unless the entry fee is paid in full.

REGULATIONS:  No substitutions will be permitted. No entry received for exhibition shall be removed by the artist, for any reason, prior to the end of the show. Jury decisions are final. Accepted entries may be reproduced in advertising. Any works deemed by Jury to have not been fairly represented at entry, or not properly framed may be declined at our discretion. All 2-D works MUST have hanging wire. No exceptions. All large free-standing 3-D works be secured to a weighted base that withstands tipping. Sculptures should not weight more than 60 lbs.

CALENDAR / IMPORTANT DATES:

July 1 - Deadline for entries

July 8 - Jury Notifications begin

Aug 3-4 - Delivery of work (between Noon and 5 PM both days)

August 9 - Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony, 5 to 8 pm

August 31 - End of show

August 31 & September 1 - Return and pick up of works between noon and 5 PM.
