The Women's Caucus for Art, Philadelphia Chapter (WCA) is pleased to announce an exhibition opportunity for current members. The exhibition will be at the Scotts Mills Studios at 3510 Scotts Ln, Philadelphia, PA 19129

Public armor, private thoughts.
External defenses, inner ambitions.
Outside agency, inside domesticity.
Fear, safety
Street, house.
Invisible, visible.
For women this duality is a condition of existence. Please submit work that explores the multisided and layered aspects of our exterior and interior experiences.

JUROR:
Eleanor Schimmel’s encaustic paintings have been featured in major exhibits for over 25 years. She has distinguished herself in the field of encaustic painting with numerous awards and recognition, museum exhibits and public installations. Her inventive use of this ancient technique of painting with pigmented wax has elicited high praise for her abstract works. Eleanor Schimmel attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and is a graduate of Moore College of Art and Design, where she was honored as the 2005 Distinguished Alumna. She resides in Haverford, PA and works at her studio in the Norristown Arts Building in Norristown, PA.

ELIGIBILITY:
Open to all current members of the WCA Philadelphia Chapter
Original artwork completed in the last two years
All mediums accepted

HOW TO ENTER:
Entry Fee: $25 for up to three (3) artworks
Image Requirements: Submit high resolution jpeg images at 300dpi no smaller than 950kb and no larger than 2mb. Each jpeg should be labeled with the artist’s last name, first name initial and title of work ((i.e. BloomS_Salvation) and the body of the email should contain title plus medium and size of each work.
3-D artists may submit 2 additional jpegs per piece, labeled “title with detail1, “title with detail2”.
Payment can be made via PayPal to wcaphiladelphia@gmail.com or snail-mailed to WCA c/o Sarah Bloom, 135 Winchester Rd. Merion Station 19066.
Images should be emailed to wcaphiladelphia@gmail.com with “Outside In” in the subject line. Once payment is confirmed, entry will be sent to juror.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Images must be submitted by OCTOBER 3rd.
Notification of acceptances delivered by OCTOBER 21st
Delivery of accepted work:
Friday Oct. 28th, 12-5pm and Saturday October 29th, 10am-12pm
Opening reception Saturday November 5, 4-7pm
Pick up of work:
Friday Dec 2, 12pm-3pm and Saturday Dec 3, 10am-12pm
